Our region is known as “Lake Region” or “Sun Coast”. We are the land of mountains, forests, beachs and the largest hypersaline lagoon in the world, and also the home of the golden lion tamarin (Leontopithecus rosalia), a small monkey native to Brazil. Once considered the most endangered primate in the world, golden lion tamarin has experienced a recovery that is a truly amazing story of conservation.
